Interview With Lance Gross

Most women love to see him shirtless, showing off those amazing abs, but that was not a requirement for this Bitchie Life Exclusive with Lance Gross… well, not until he arrived on the set. His mere presence made all the ladies’ hearts skip a few beats. He was very charming as he walked around and introduced himself to everyone, no introduction needed here. We all know who he is. Star of TBS sitcom’s “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” and the movie “Our Family Wedding. A self proclaimed “Relationship-type-of-guy”, Lance is the complete package; smart, successful, and surprisingly very funny. But we wanted to find out more about Lance; The Man. His likes, his dislikes, his views on open marriage and things that he misses most about being in a relationship. Here, in the very first celebrity exclusive interview for BitchieLife.com, ladies we give you a front row seat to one of the sexiest men in Hollywood.
Since you are a bachelor now, what are some of the qualities that you look for in a woman?
I’m looking for someone who has their sh*t together. They gotta be independent, have goals in life, be tight-knit with their family, intelligent…. Those are the main things that I look for off top.
I’m sure you get approached by women all the time. How do you feel about women approaching men?
I don’t knock it! I like it! I am all for women who approach men. It makes my job a lot easier.
What are some of the Dos and Don’ts a woman should follow when approaching a man?
There is always a right and a wrong way when doing things. You don’t want to come off as too pressed or too thirsty.
But sometimes, if a woman approaches a guy, some might immediately assume that she’s thirsty when she can genuinely be interested in a conversation….
It could come off as thirsty when you try to do too much. If you approach a dude and you’re interested in a conversation, then that’s all you really need to do. All a guy needs to know is that there is a little interest, and he will take care of the rest. So you don’t have to be like “Take my number down, do this do that”… You don’t have to do all that.
Most women think that men should approach them. “He’s the hunter, he needs to chase me!”
It’s a new day. It’s not like that anymore.

How do you feel about women’s rules? For example “No sex during the first three months of dating” or “we have to go on certain number of dates before being intimate”, etc…
Sometimes rules get you in trouble. I am all about going with your heart and your instinct. You know what’s right and what’s wrong. You might lose a good thing with all those rules. Sometimes people go off of the rules that other people set in place. You have to do what works for you.
You had a very public relationship with Eva Marcille. Knowing what you know now, would you keep the next relationship private?
“I will never have a public relationship like that one again. A lot of the reasons why we were so open was because we thought if we put it out there, then people aren’t going to speculate and make up their own stories. But it kind of backfired on us because everybody felt like they were in our relationship. They felt entitled to know all the information. So, I will never do that again. If it comes out then I am not going to deny who I am with, but my next relationship will definitely be more private than that one.”

It’s unfortunate because you always publicly expressed your love for her and it was good to see that. That’s rare in a lot of African-American celebrity relationships

I let my guard down with her. I didn’t care who knew. We wanted to shout it but it backfired on us…
So you will do a Jay-Z and Beyonce for next time?

For sure! Nobody’s gonna know!
What do you have to say to people who think that all celebrity relationships are business arrangements? For example, some couples are put together for publicity purposes.
I hear stuff like that all the time. I loved Eva and she loved me so that’s what it was. It wasn’t about if we get seen together it would boost our careers.
How do you feel about Open Relationships? I noticed a lot of celebrities are into that sort of thing?
